Lynn Morgan, née Taylor
Lynn Margaret Taylor was born on May 24th 1945, a "celebration" for Phil and Maisie Taylor of the end of the 2nd World War.
The daughter of a professional footballer and England international, Lynn was born and raised in Liverpool with her younger sister Gillian and attended Waterloo Park Grammar School for girls. On leaving school Lynn became a hairdresser of some renown and later lectured in the subject at Liverpool Community College.
In 1965 Lynn met Harry and became Mrs. Morgan on March 27th 1967. Janine was born on December 9th 1968, followed by Louise on June 1st 1970, two beautiful girls who Lynn adored and were her pride and joy. Lynn became a proud grandmother when Janine and Paul (Bowyer) produced her grandson Michael on December 8th 1994, followed by Georgia on November 21st 1996, and finally Olivia on July 13th 2000. The family she had always dreamed of was complete.
Lynn led an active life and enjoyed sailing in Wales and in the Mediterranean with her family and friends and playing golf at the West Lancashire Golf Club where she was a member since 1983. After retiring Lynn and Harry bought their dream "bolt hole" in the sun on the Costa del Sol in Spain and enjoyed 6 years and many magic moments together playing golf and petanque or just relaxing by the pool.
Lynn's world was shattered after she complained of pains in her arm and shortly before her 58th birthday in 2004 was diagnosed with a brain tumor (G.B.M.). Lynn refused to give in or to accept the inevitable and fought for her life as only Lynn could. 5 months after her tumor was removed Lynn confounded everyone and went to Spain on a golfing holiday, which meant so much to her. 2 months after her holiday Lynn again underwent surgery to have the recurring tumor removed only to be confined to a wheelchair but still refusing to succumb. Lynn again managed, with the help of those who loved her, to return to Spain to see her beloved apartment for a final time.
Lynn never complained throughout her ordeal, continued to confound people and enjoyed a wonderful 60th birthday party in May 2005 with her loving family and close friends. A day no one who was there will ever forget.
Lynn went to sleep for the last time on December 15th 2005 after being cared for at home by her loving family.
Our heroine has gone but Lynn did not want anyone to go through what she had to endure. On behalf of Lynn we have set up a trust in her name which we would ask you to donate to. Hopefully one day we will all help to defeat this insidious and deadly disease.
All donations given in Lynn's memory will be used to help fund the research into cancer taking place in the J.K.Douglas Laboratories.
