Ray Molloy
Ray Molloy was just 60 years old, and soon after retirement he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. His wife Debbie simply says:
"Ray was a lovely man very inspirational to everyone, especially in the last year of his life. He just loved everything that was going on.
”He spent that last year making sure the people he would leave behind would be all right." His wonderful sense of humour was maintained to the end, and his love of life, music and football kept him going too.
”In his own words - "What's the point in spoiling the little bit of time I have left by being miserable? I want to live what's left of my life to the full!"
And he certainly did, keeping up his own energetic fundraising and turning his attention to supporting cancer research at the J K Douglas Laboratories, where the donations given through this Tribute Fund will go.
One regular source of income will be the annual "Ray Molloy Challenge Cup", a football tournament set up by his friend Steve Price, which raises a substantial amount of money every year in Ray’s memory. Proceeds from this event are kindly match-funded by Barclays Bank.
All donations given in Ray’s memory will be used to help fund the research into cancer taking place in the J.K.Douglas Laboratories.
To donate to research at CCRT please print off and return the donation form marking it “Ray Molloy Tribute Fund” to the Appeals Office.
Total to date raised in Ray’s memory: £6590.00.
If you would like to give to any of the Tribute Funds, print out and complete our donation form.
